Nathalie Emmanuel

Nathalie Emmanuel was a British actor who gained notoriety for her portrayal of Missandei in HBO's fantasy drama "Game of Thrones" (HBO 2011, 2011-19). Emmanuel, who was born and brought up in Southend-on-the-Sea in Essex's seaside resort she has always had a keen interest in performing. She was noticed by her mother, and when young Nathalie was just three, her parents began enrolling her in performing, singing and dancing classes. Emmanuel was an impressive actor who grew rapidly. In the latter half of the 90s she was playing young Nala in "The Lion King," the West End musical that was a huge success. Emmanuel was a candidate for roles in film and television when she was a teenager. In 2007, she was offered her first major role when she portrayed Sasha Valentine in the British soap drama Hollyoaks (Channel 4 from 1995 to). Emmanuel was in the role for four seasons before leaving the series in 2010. Emmanuel got her first break in HBO "Game of Thrones" 3 years later playing the character of Missandei. This role will be the voice of Daenerys' Targaryen role (portrayed by Emilia Clarke). Emmanuel will go on to reprise her role in every subsequent series of "Game of Thrones"" all the way through the finale of the show which aired in May of 2019.
